  • Three round stoneware boxes make up the Gus set, each topped with a small modeled creature that doubles as the lid handle.
  • The striped, near-spherical bodies are glazed by hand in blue and white or brown and white, so the set has a collected look rather than a matched one.
  • Secondary clay gives the stoneware its range, from red to brown under the glaze, and firing adds pin holes, small chips and marks where the glaze ran.
  • A wood-fired kiln pushes that variation further, while a gas-fired kiln holds a more even result.
  • The boxes measure 4, 4.5 and 5 inches across and all stand 4 inches high, a scale that suits a bookshelf, a desk or a bedside.
  • Set of three lidded round boxes in hand crafted stoneware
  • Offered in blue and white or brown and white
  • Modeled stoneware creature finial on each lid
  • Striped, spherical body
  • Sizes 4″D x 4″H, 4.5″D x 4″H and 5″D x 4″H
  • Color ranges from red to brown beneath the glaze
  • Kiln marks including pin holes and glaze runs are expected
  • Suits a bookshelf, desk or bedside
  • Holds small essentials out of sight
